sauna for

calm wellbeing the heart the soul community

awaken your senses in our beautiful wild sauna

wild sauna & cold water therapy for body and mind

Whether you are looking for deep relaxation, to enjoy the many health benefits that sauna & contrast therapy offers, or a just unique social experience - each session in our sauna will leave you feeling rejuvenated and renewed.

Our beautiful, purpose built sauna has panoramic views over the adjacent Mill, orchard, and rolling South Downs.

Indulge in the art of contrast: the soothing heat of the sauna followed by a refreshing plunge into our cold water therapy tanks. The cold water for our tanks is taken directly from the mill stream - water that has been purified by being filtered through the chalk of the South Downs.

prices & booking

A 60 minute sauna in one of our communal sessions (maximum 6 participants) is £17 drop in - or you can buy one of our 5 or 10 session packs for even better pricing. These can be used to bring guests, and for classes in our movement studio, too.

Private sauna sessions are £80 per hour, and give you and your group exclusive use of the sauna & cold water therapy area.

Online booking can be found below. If you can’t find a time that suits you, do get in touch; we may be able to open at other times for private bookings - it never hurts to ask!

Private or communal sauna sessions are both 60 minutes.
Communal sessions have a maximum of 6 available places.

To book:

Click ‘Appointment Type’ and choose ‘Wild Sauna’

Click the relevant button for Communal or Private session to see available days and times for that session type

Communal Sessions

If you choose ‘Communal’ you’ll be asked if you would like to book more than one spot; if you’re booking just for yourself, just click ‘Continue with no additional spots’

If you would like to add a second guest, you will need to enter their name & email address, as we do need a record of, and a waiver signed by, each guest that visits the sauna, for health & safety

Please note that under 18s are not permitted in communal sauna sessions.

Available communal sauna times will have an asterisk by them if some seats in that session have already been booked.

You will be prompted to purchase a session pack, should you wish to do so - just ignore this option if you would like to book one session only.

Private Sessions

We do not require the names of other guests in a private session, but ask that the party leader circulates the medical and safety information, and signs the waiver on behalf of the group.

We strongly recommend downloading and using the Momence app for future bookings, as this will store your registration information and card details, for a more seamless process!

If you don’t see a time here that suits you, please let us know - we may be able to open other slots for private sessions, subject to availability

we suggest you download the momence app (available for Apple or Android) for an easier way to manage your mill yard studio class & sauna bookings

frequently asked questions

  • We are tucked away at Duncton Mill on the Barlavington Estate, but just 10 minutes from Petworth and approximately 15 from Chichester. You can find directions and how to find us here.

When you arrive, please follow the signs for Mill Yard parking; we’d be grateful if you didn’t park on the lane, by the adjacent buildings, or in the Trout Fishery car park, all of which are private.

  • Please bring:

    • Swimwear (and if you can arrive wearing it, even better)

    • Two towels. One to sit on, which can be small, and one for drying off after your sauna

    • Flip flops or sliders (no shoes in the sauna please - so footwear that it is easy to get in and out of helps us to keep everything nice and clean and tidy for you!)

    • A water bottle. We always have water available, but it is really important to hydrate before, during and after your sauna session

    • Warm clothes for after your sauna, and to travel home in. We don’t have warm showers, so stay warm after your session

    • A dry robe or similar, if you have one can be very useful.

We only have one small changing space, so if you can come ‘ready to sauna’ (wearing your swimwear and ready to strip off), that helps us to give you the maximum possible time in the heat.

  • There is a small changing room that is part of the sauna cabin, and a cold outdoor shower.

We don’t have hot showers or other changing facilities! All part of the wild sauna experience.

However we do have a cosy barn café space, with hot coffee and a woodburner, should you like to stay around and relax (check our café page for current opening hours)

  • All of our sauna sessions are available to book either privately, or with individual ‘seats’.

If you book a seat in a communal session you will be sharing with others. We have a maximum of 6 people in our communal sessions.

Private sessions can be for up to 8 people.

  • We have trugs available for guests to use, and a shed to keep them dry if it’s raining. In a private session you’re welcome to leave everything in the changing room.

We can’t take responsibility for valuables and personal possessions on site, so please take care. Hanging jewellery such as necklaces and bracelets should be removed before sauna - so it may be wise to leave those at home.

  • Prior to your session, you will be sent a Booking Information & Waiver Form; please read this carefully and sign to acknowledge. It includes some important health information, and our sauna ‘rules’ which are there for safety and to make sure that the sauna remains an enjoyable place for everyone.

We do need to have this on file for everyone that comes to sauna with us, so if you can do it before you arrive, that does speed things up!

  • Unfortunately we aren’t able to allow anyone under 18 in our communal sessions. However children are allowed in private sessions - we just ask, as part of our waiver, that they have a responsible adult with them at a ratio of 1:1.

  • Yes absolutely! Have a look at our venue hire page for more information.
